Midnight sun, Starlink and posts from the far South

So finally we’ll get this blog up and running….. It’s pretty incredible that one can post on the web from 68 degrees South with the stunning scenery of the Antarctic continent passing by outside the window under the midnight sun. Students are out on deck surveying while I’m trying to post the blog entries of the past week!!!! First it was the rough Drake that kept students (and staff) away from the computer screen, now it’s the overwhelming experiences we are having and the intensity of the activities… and then of course there’s the minor issue of remote log-in into University servers via satellite connection…..

The blog  posts are in chronological order, starting with Buenos Aires, then two days Drake’s Passage and then Western Antarctic Peninsula…..

You can track our real-time progress via cruisemapper and search for the ‘Roald Amundsen’.
